I'm totally new to BJJ. Will I fit in?+

Our Adults BJJ Beginners Gi class (Mon & Wed 6 PM) is built for exactly this. Zero experience, no gi needed for your first class, we'll lend you one.

What's the difference between Moraes BJJ and regular BJJ?+

Moraes BJJ is the authentic lineage and grading system led by Professor Edilson Moraes. It ensures structured progression, legitimate belt grading, and connection to the global Moraes competition network. Pair that with the Scrappy fight-team intensity and you get a high-level but welcoming academy.

Which kids stream fits my child?+

4–6 years → Little Subs (Mon & Wed 3:30 PM). 7 years and up, new → Kids Beginners BJJ Gi (Mon/Wed/Fri 4 PM). 7+ with experience → Kids Advanced (Mon–Thurs 4:45 PM).

Do I need a gi for my first class?+

No. Loan gis are available for your first session. If you stick around, we'll help you order the right one for your size and progression.

Can I compete through the academy?+

Yes, Moraes × Scrappy actively runs competition pathways. Saturday Kids Comp Class (9:30 AM) and Sunday Kids Comp (10:30 AM, invite only) are for students who want to step on the competition mat.
